Donate his archives

The Archives of the City of Brussels accept donations of archives from residents, associations or businesses in the municipality. These private sources enhance the collections, supplement public archives and provide a vast amount of information on lifestyles and the economic and social history of Brussels.

All these testimonies are of interest to us, whether they are photographs, old papers, printed papers, plans, correspondence, films, posters or postcards and come from families, associations or business activities. Sadly, too many documents and traces of history disappear due to house moves, deaths and business closures !

Archives can be donated to the City Archives. During the donation process, an agreement (DOC, 27.50 KB) is drawn up with the City Archives setting out the modalities for consulting the archives and establishing copyright issues. The moving costs (packaging and transport) are paid by the Archives of the City of Brussels.

The Archives of the City of Brussels take all possible steps to keep the archives entrusted to them in optimum condition so they can be passed down to future generations.
